Fall Drives –  The aspen trees are starting to change.  Make sure you take the time to seek the beautiful fall leaves in Colorado.  You will want to get out of the car to enjoy the crisp fall air and to snap some photos of a fall scene of densely wooded, fiery aspen trees. Places to go: Pikes Peak Highway, Highway 67 through Cripple Creek, Highway 67, Rampart Range.

Scarecrow days in Old Colorado City – Come see the unique, the scary, the creative, and the beautiful scarecrows in Old Colorado City! Merchants in OCC will create a scarecrow and place it in front of their business during the month of October. Make sure you explore OCC to see them all.

Giant Spirit Tour – Old Colorado City’s finest restaurants join together to create a tour of the best tastings and samples of craft beers and wines around during the Giant Pumpkin Festival 2017. The tour will include specials on food and appetizers. $25 a person, to benefit the Great Pumpkin Common Wealth Pumpkin Growers Contest. *samples only

Emma Cawford Coffin Races – The Parade starts at noon, followed by 70 teams racing coffins down Manitou Avenue for the ultimate victory! Each team consists of one Emma and four runners dressed in costume. The fastest times earn trophies as well as a chance to win Best Emma, Best Entourage, and Best Coffin.

See the fall colors by Train – Relax and take in the beautiful scenery while riding on one of the area’s trains and railways. The Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad is a four-mile round-trip ride through one of the region’s best places to peep the changing of the leaves. The Pikes Peak Cog will not only take you to the summit of Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain but it also is a great way to see the leaves change.

Segway Tours –  The great thing about these tours offered by Adventures Out West, you decide where you want to take your tour – whether it’s Garden of the Gods Park, The Broadmoor, or Downtown Colorado Springs. If you’d prefer to sit, jeep tours are also available.
